Women of Kato Acoustic Set

The first Women of Kato acoustic music set at NaKato Bar and Grill. A nice evening of music from Laura Karels, Mal Murphy, Violette Leboutillier, and Emma Josephine. Music will go from 5:30-7:30 on the NaKato patio, weather permitting.
Mal Murphy is a Mankato, MN-based singer-songwriter who released her first, and highly anticipated, EP in December of 2023 entitled, “Grow Up.” Her sound is decidedly Americana-–acoustic accompanying rich vocals with an occasional harmonica. You can find Mal playing regular solo gigs or partnering with other local favorites such as Nate Boots, Crista Bohlmann, The Mighty Zach Attack, and Kaleb Braun-Schulz. Laura Karels fronts the Mankato-based Americana folk rock band Bee Balm Fields, who just released their latest album in 2023 called “Whiskey Walkin'”. Laura is a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, piano, and banjo) and vocalist. Originally from New Ulm, she splits time between Northern Minnesota and Mankato.

Violette LeBoutillier is a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano, violin) and vocalist who has performed and recorded with her family. Violette hails from North Mankato and St. Peter and will graduate high school in June.
